Adulting Academy
We are in the process of establishing the Adulting Academy Charter School - a innovative k-12 whose mission is to empower youth to become informed, productive and successful young adults. The Adulting Academy curriculum will include a variety of themes courses including capitalism, relationships, racism, communication, self-care, transition to college, financial literacy, social justice, housing/real estate, career guidance, Black History & Culture, parenting and citizenship, As we continue formulating Adulting Academy, we invite interested professionals, parents, and community members to join us in this important charter school endeavor. “Adulting,” or functioning as a grown up, is hard. Few people learn the intricacies of generating a resume, balancing a budget, filing taxes or engaging in healthy relationships. Adulting Online changes the game by providing a series of innovative online courses designed to support the successful transition to adulthood. The Adulting Online curricula vary widely from program to program, but they generally address a range of skills areas, and individuals can choose which sessions to attend based on their unique needs. Our goal is to teach both practical life skills that help people effectively live, thrive and communicate personally and professionally.Ultimately, from learning how to change a tire to managing your finances, Adulting Online has a course for you and yours!

We conduct salient research about the often untold experiences of African Americans as they navigate America's educational institutions. Currently we are recruiting for two innovative research studies: (1) The Graduate Grind - examining the support services offered to Black graduate students with disabilities (2) Black Teacher Turnover - investigating the causes and impact of high teacher attrition rates and (3) Pounding the Phd Pavement - exploring how newly-minted PhDs navigate the job market.
